This exciting piece in one movement for two pianos showcases the interesting rhythms and tonalities for which Dennis Alexander is so well known. A General MIDI disk, available separately, includes a full piano recording and background accompaniment. The two parts are equal in difficulty, and both are included. Fanfare Toccata-Rondo
Written for two pianos, four hands, this appealing piece features driving rhythms in both the melody and the accompaniment. Both piano parts are equal in difficulty and share the melody. Students will find this ensemble fun to play. Audiences will find it to be a real showstopper! This work was commissioned by the 2002 Goshen College Piano Workshop.

Imperial Concertante

 

Pianists at the early intermediate level will delight in the sounds of this concerto written especially for them. Each movement conveys a different spirit and sound, from the fast and energetic feel of the first movement to the brilliant and sparkling third movement. In between, the second movement presents a lyrical contrast with its singing melody and lush harmonies. Together with the second piano accompaniment, students will experience the thrill and fun of performing a concerto. Movements: Allegro molto * Andante cantabile * Presto brillante.

This student concerto is dedicated to the Piano Studio of Melody Stroth who resides in Overland Park, KS.
